This morning I went to my February retightening. The session took about 4-hours and my Stylist was very pleased that most of my locks were still set. If you remember, at my January visit several had either come loose or were very very loose.
Since I am going monthly for my retightenings, I only actually washed once this time, this morning. Instead of washing weekly, I banded the Locks together with rubberbands and 'gently' poured warm water over them and let them air dry.
The Locks are filling out and growing. According to my Stylist, the Locks are setting really well, inspite of my hair being 'soft'. This takes me back to the 70s, when I was trying to grow a Natural. My hair was 'soft' then and I had to put 'stuff' in it to make it look coarse.
This is better and takes a lot less time in the mirror.
One of the best thing about my Locks is how they feel. It is really hard to describe, but when I play with them the texture of the Lock feels really great. Additionally, the Locks seem to be keeping their curl pattern as they grow. As they get heavier (fuller), I hope they curl pattern remains. This means that when I style my hair, it will retain a natural curl. I will not have to wet-roll or crinkle it by braiding. We will see.
I am really really enjoying the transition.
